On September 8th, 1935, Huey Long, the controversial governor and senator of Louisiana was shot. He died of his wounds on September 10th. Throughout his political career, Long was both incredibly popular and often vilified. He achieved amazing accomplishments but was accused of bribery and vicious tactics. His life and career are fascinating.
